V.M.T.A. Ride Guidelines
- Ride in staggered formation.
- If the situation warrants the ride
captain will divide the group into two groups for the safety
of all.
- Each rider must watch out for others.
- Maintain proper following distances to
prevent the “yo-yo” or accordion effect.
- Never pull out of formation for any reason
other than an emergency without first advising the ride captain.
- In the event of a breakdown only one other
rider will stop with the disabled bike while the rest of the group
proceeds to the next available stopping area.
- Using the CB radio the drag or the “tail
gunner” keeps the rest of the group informed of traffic
approaching from the rear.
- All riders shall keep his unit advised of
oncoming traffic and road conditions.
- Obey cities and town’s speed limits.
This helps keep a good image of motorcycle riders.
- The ride captain will start at a
slower but safe speed to allow the group to come together and then
set the speed no higher than posted on the road.
- Ultimately safety is every person’s (rider and passenger’s) responsibility.
