MINUTES OCTOBER, 2008
The October 13, 2008
meeting of Valley Motorcycle Touring Association was called to order
by President Sid Martin promptly at 7:00 PM.
Recognition and
congratulations was extended to members with birthdays and
anniversaries in the month of October.
The minutes were read
and approved.
A bank balance of
$980.22 was reported and accepted.
Rich and Sally Curtis
having met the requirements was proposed for membership and was
unanimously approved.
Jerry Morehouse is still
working on an internet site for exchange of information on
motorcycles and cars.
He would like to have a local calendar and a site where
ideas, questions and tips on repairs and other information can be
exchanged. Contact him for further information.
Vice President Paul
Lujan had no report.
Public Relations, Art
Murphy said Bikes on Broadway event was successful and $18,000 was
contributed to Our House. On November
9th there will be a benefit ride and event to build a
park for children at the Warm Springs Rehabilitation Center. See Art
for further details.
Roger scheduled upcoming
ride and the November and December rides will be in the
Newsletter.
Connie McRae, will
sponsor a spaghetti dinner on November 8th for the
benefit of Harris County Relay for Life. Tickets are $5 each. Christmas Party is December
6th and Toys for Tots on Dec. 7th.
Roger reminded those who
participate in the mileage event to turn in their miles to Susan by
November 3o0th.
The nomination committee
proposed the following officers for the year 2009 President, John McRae, Vice
President, John Fiske, Treasurer, Sue Sealy, Secretary, Jerry
Morehouse, Road Riding ,Roger & Susan Miller and Public
Relations, Art Murphy. The elections of officers nominated will be
held at the November meeting.
The 50/50 of $17.50 was
won by Jerry Morehouse and Door Prizes by Sid and Jordan, Frank and
Sue Sealy’s grandson.
The meeting was
adjourned by President Sid Martin at 7:54 PM.
